Al Jazeera English

setting the news agenda

Al Jazeera English, the 24-hour English-language news and current affairs channel, headquartered in Doha, launched across the world in November 2006. A fresh perspective on world news, Al Jazeera English offers viewers an objective and independent news channel. It covers all sides of the story from all over the globe and will revolutionise viewer choice.

Al Jazeera English is the world’s first English language news channel to be
headquartered in the Middle East. From its unique position within the Arab and Muslim World, looking outwards, Al Jazeera English reports inclusively, examining all perspectives on a story and providing a fresh 360 degree approach to news coverage.

With broadcasting centres in Doha, Kuala Lumpur, London and Washington DC and supporting bureaux world-wide, the channel provides both a regional voice and an international perspective to a potential global audience of over one billion English speakers.

The station broadcasts factual programming including news features and analysis, documentaries, live debates, current affairs entertainment, business and sport.

Al Jazeera English is building on the Al Jazeera Network’s ground breaking developments in the Arab and Muslim world that have changed the face of news within the Middle East. It is setting the news agenda by giving voice to untold stories, promoting debate and challenging established perceptions.
